Plaques

This year NETA is trying something different for event awards in 2024. Central Arizona Trials gives out little plates at each event that attach to a larger plaque and NETA plans follow suit. At each event a small plate with the event, finishing position, class & date will be given out at the awards ceremony.

Riders have the option of purchasing a larger plaque to attach the plates to. Plates will be given out to attendees of the trials school and at fun events in addition to NETA Championship events. The plaque will have plenty of space for riders to attach the plates that they accumulate throughout the event season.

  • These awards will reduce the awards cost for clubs by $500-$700 per event.
  • NETA will supply the event plates to the clubs at no cost. The clubs can give out additional trophies if they wish. Traditional trophies are recommended for Youth riders.
  • Additionally NETA will still be giving out year end plaques to those who qualify! Best of all, year end awards are given out to qualifying riders for 1st-10th place. All you have to do is ride a minimum of one event and work at least one event to qualify for a year end award!

The plaques for can be purchased by completing the order form below. They will be made after the order is placed and brought to a future NETA event for pickup.

Beginner Class

Getting new riders into trials is always great! This year NETA will be reintroducing the beginner class! Instead of a youth class there will be a beginner class for riders of all ages. The beginner sections will be extremely easy and an experienced trials rider will take the beginner riders around the loop as a group. Each rider will get to ride the section before the whole group moves to the next section. The beginner loop will be very short and consist of fewer sections. Best of all it will be close to the parking lot.

The goal of the beginner class is to get new and less experienced riders out competing without making them ride the challenging loop trail. This class will give out trophies for youth riders. However, it will be non compete for adults. If you know someone just getting into trials, encourage them to give the beginner class a try!

Event Gates

NETA is making some changes for 2024! One is the use of plastic stakes to hold gate markers. The stakes are made in the USA by a small family owned company. NETA tried a few and found they were fairly brittle so the company that makes them adjusted their plastic formula, to make them more flexible and very durable, just for NETA! Gate markers no longer have to be stapled to trees and other surfaces, allowing us to use them over and over! Another bonus is you will not displace a Marker that is attached to a dead log. Of course gate markers can still be stapled to trees where the ground won’t allow a stake to be inserted and they’re easy to move during section layout.

Best of all these stakes will help NETA reduce waste and cost! It’s estimated that over the course of three years, if reused, these stakes will save NETA nearly $1,200! Plus supporting a USA made product is always a good thing! NETA will be distributing the stakes with gate markers to clubs as needed. If you have any questions please reach out to one of the NETA board members.
